Only five parts of the Ordinary Mass β Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Agnus Dei β were set to music by Renaissance composers. By 1450 the Ite Missa est, which is the dismissal from the Mass, spoken or sung by the priest at the very end of the service, was removed from the list.
